The Bergen County Office of Food Security, formerly the Food Security Task Force, was formed in 2020 due to the skyrocketing need caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, we have worked to pursue our mission to create a more resilient network of emergency food providers by supplementing pantry distributions, building relationships between partners, and investing in vital infrastructure.
The Office of Food Security also recognizes that food insecurity is often a symptom of a larger issue such as homelessness, unemployment, or disability. To ensure food pantries are equipped to holistically serve individuals facing food insecurity, the Office of Food Security provides access to external resources such as rental assistance, affordable child care, job training, and mental health counseling.

Thank you to the Bergen County Division of Senior Services for inviting us to participate in their annual Senior Festival! Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table in the resource area to learn about food insecurity and local food pantries.
While the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles were making their final preparations for the big game, the students of the Bergen County Technical School District were hard at work collecting cans of soup for local food pantries. Together, the students were able to collect over 3,000 cans of soup!
